Jesus took our wickedness so he could establish His throne in righteousness in earth through the church.

  1. DEFINITION

Righteousness Defineddikaiosunē (G1343) – Righteousness is a legal term.

Thayer Definition:

1) in a broad sense: state of him who is as he ought to be, righteousness, the condition acceptable to God

1a) the doctrine concerning the way in which man may attain a state approved of God

1b) integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting

Strong’s Definition:

      Equity of character or act

Just Defined: dikaios (Righteous – G1342))

Thayer Definition:

1) righteous, observing divine laws

1a) in a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping the commands of God

1a1) of those who seem to themselves to be righteous, who pride themselves to be righteous, who pride themselves in their virtues, whether real or imagined

1a2) innocent, faultless, guiltless

1a3) used of him whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is wholly conformed to the will of God, and who therefore needs no rectification in the heart or life

Justified Defined:  dikaioō (G1344)

Thayer Definition:

1) to render righteous or such he ought to be

2) to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered

3) to declare, pronounce, one to be just, righteous, or such as he ought to be

Justification Defined:  dikaiōsis (G1347)

Thayer Definition:

1) the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him

2) abjuring to be righteous, justification

Right Defined: euthus (G2117)

Thayer Definition:

1) straight, level

2) straight forward, upright, true, sincere

3) straightway, immediately, forthwith
